I'm not sure if this is possible, but would help a lot for Tortoise SVN/CVS users, where Tortoise uses the shellIconCache (Windows) for adding small overlay icons (like the ones used for shortcuts) to the files in Explorer or in file managers where this feature is supported (like in Total Commander). Right now Jedit VFS browser does not show these.
